Commission on User eXperience and Commission on Cognitive Issues in Geographic Information Visualization co-organized before the conference workshop at the International Cartographic Conference in Florence. The workshop focused on the insufficiently studied context of using maps to explore, interact and understand immersive virtual geographic environments. During the workshop, which took place in a hybrid form, experts from several institutions dealt intensively with the virtual geographical environments.
